Fondant With Marshmallows

Posted by on

Homemade fondant made with marshmallows is a popular and easy-to-make alternative to traditional fondant. Here is a recipe for making fondant with marshmallows:

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz mini marshmallows
  • 2-3 tbsp water
  • 2 lb powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening

Instructions:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the marshmallows and water for 30-second intervals until the marshmallows are completely melted, stirring after each interval.

  2. Sift the powdered sugar into a large mixing bowl.

  3. Add the melted marshmallows to the powdered sugar and mix well. The mixture will be very stiff.

  4. Coat your hands and work surface with vegetable shortening.

  5. Knead the fondant until it is smooth and pliable. If the fondant is too dry, you can add a little more water, 1 teaspoon at a time, until it reaches the desired consistency. If the fondant is too sticky, you can add more powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time.

  6. Once the fondant is smooth and pliable, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before using it.

This fondant made with marshmallows can be used to cover cakes, make decorations, and much more. It is also easy to color and flavor, making it a versatile choice for any occasion.
